"May I say once again that these boxes are beautiful gifts and we appreciate the Church members' generosity very, very much. What a great gift! And they are so needed! Today, one of the parents brought lunch to our five volunteers in the office. He wanted us to see how he had used one of the chickens he received in his last box. He saved it all month so he could let us taste his recipe. It was wonderful and it went a long way, because he mixed it with rice and other ingredients. He said he really enjoys cooking for his family from the Treasure Box ingredients. (He earns $10.50 an hour working as a kitchen helper in a restaurant. He has a family of five to support and the box is really helping them get through the month.) The chicken he cooked served 11 people -- our five volunteers, one new parent who had come to SPIN for help, and the chef's family of five. Kinda reminds me of the loaves and fishes story."
